Drastically improving gut health, naturally.


Disgusted with your gut and the grip it has on your life?  Oh my goodness hon, I’ve been there and have loads of support to offer you!  

I help savvy, conscientious women who struggle with IBS and are desperately seeking a solution, to drastically improve their gut health, naturally via my Gut Restoration Project.

Life becomes much more exciting when you create a more loving relationship with yourself and I believe that starts with the thoughts in your mind and culminates in your gut.

If you’re experiencing gut pain, I’m here to tell you that it more than likely doesn’t need to be that way.

I’d struggled with being overweight since childhood.  Then in the late ’90’s, I started having problems with digestion, anxiety and other issues that bothered me for way too many years.  

Possibly similar to you, I’d been eating the Standard American Diet my entire life – donuts, sugary cereals, processed meats, tons of cheese, ice cream, cookies, chips, fast and fried foods, microwave dinners and popcorn, chocolate milk, soda on occasion.

I was diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) in my early 20’s.

In July 2011, things took a sharp turn and for over 22 months, I experienced significant and constant abdominal pain and other problems.  

One test after another and more money than I’d like to count revealed nothing significant and docs started to question whether it was ‘all in my head.’  

After things worsened with conventional medicine techniques, I became even more desperate for a solution and switched up the focus of my research.

What I discovered changed my life (and it could change yours too)! 


I discovered functional medicine through Dr. Mark Hyman (thanks to the 2013 Food Revolution Summit!) and made significant shifts in my diet and lifestyle.  Within a few weeks the pain (along with the majority of the IBS symptoms) disappeared.

I used (delicious, ‘real’) food as medicine and it worked!

I don’t want you to needlessly suffer from the pain, desperation and other emotions that are inevitable when your gut rules your life.  I don’t want you to spend countless trips to the doctor while feeling stuck or as if you’re falling deeper into the hole.

For me, there were so many things to learn, including how to navigate gluten and dairy intolerances (and even unlearn much of what I’d been taught for decades that continues to confuse people today).

I hope to make the journey easier for you so you can experience the many benefits of having a healthy and glorious gut. 

The day I realized the pain was gone was one of the best days ever! 

I’m so grateful and every single day has been much more pleasant since.  

Thinking back, I remember wondering whether I would ever be pain-free again.  I felt desperate for an answer, was drowning in research and wondered whether anything would work for me.  The solution appeared at about the point when I couldn’t take it any longer…  

Since then, I’ve submerged myself into the world of food and lifestyle as medicine.  I’ve become obsessed and love it!

The results have been amaaazing! 

Not only did the changes I made heal the constant abdominal pain within a few weeks; they also resolved most of the laundry list of IBS associated symptoms that I’d experienced for over half my life!

Being a lifelong learner, I was so inspired that I became a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach.  I continue to learn something new every day. 

Following my certification, the program I’d been dreaming of was announced and I was offered an amazing opportunity – to be a Functional Medicine Coaching Academy, Inc. Beta Student.  I’m honored and grateful to be part of FMCA’s inaugural class and to have become a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach

I’ve made lots of progress over the past few years and continue to explore additional opportunities for growth; I have a clear vision and am continually moving forward.

Now, it’s time to help you do the same.

I don’t want you to have to ask yourself whether you’ll ever be pain-free again, like I had.  I don’t want you to feel the desperation associated with digestion problems any longer. 

I want you to be able to enjoy your life fully and feel well so you can experience all the world has to offer you.  We live on a gorgeous planet and it’s waiting to be explored!


There’s a lot of conflicting nutrition advice and info out there, but the truth is that it’s really a lot simpler and straightforward than you might think.  It does take perseverance and commitment, but the thing to remember is that you are soooo worth it! 

And I will be here to support you along the way – habit change can be really tough without support and accountability (along with a huge ‘why’ which we’ll dig into)!

I love to hike and would much rather visit the mountains or ocean than a busy city.

Disc golf and volleyball are my favorite sports to play.

I have the cutest pup ever, Stella; and an amazing husband that has stuck by me through the worst of the junk mentioned above.

I’ve visited Spain, Gibraltar, Mexico and Fiji and enjoy travelling within the U.S. as well.

Wet socks are the worst.

Quarterly at minimum, I need to experience LIVE music or my world will start to crumble.

I’m a May 2010 graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Madison and have a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Psychology. I’m a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and supported kiddos experiencing disabilities as a case manager from October 2010 to June 2016. Prior to that, I worked with adults with a variety of concerns, including substance abuse and mental health issues. Health and wellness topics have interested me for a long time – influenced by my own health complications and the desire to help others.  

After using food and lifestyle shifts to eliminate over 22 months of constant abdominal pain along with a long list of IBS symptoms I’d had since high school, I enrolled at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and became a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach.  

I followed my passion and have more recently become a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach.  In July 2016, I started as a Course Facilitator and Practicum Supervisor for incoming classes at the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy, Inc. (FMCA).  Within a year, I was promoted to Director of Admissions with FMCA.

My mission is to facilitate habit change for savvy, conscientious women so they can decrease or eliminate IBS symptoms and get their life back, leave the pain and worry behind and spend more time doing what they love.
